Comprehensive Eye Examinations
Every member of your family needs regular eye exams.
For children, early treatment of vision problems can improve grades at school and athletic performance on the field. For the adults in the family, vision exams can detect the earliest signs of disorders and provide updated lens prescriptions to avoid eye strain or fatigue.
We recommend that patients of all ages receive a dilated eye examination. This allows the doctors to check for conditions of the optic nerve or retina.

Comprehensive Eye Examinations
Acute Medical Eye Evaluations are performed for a number of different reasons.
These include evaluating:
- Red or painful eyes
- Lumps/Bumps on eyelids
- Suspected or apparent foreign body
- Flashes and floaters
- Vision loss, Double Vision
More chronic issues include:
- Monitoring potential issues from systemic conditions (ex. thyroid disorders, diabetes, etc.)
- Monitoring medication side effects that affect the eyes
Our doctors are able to diagnose and treat with topical or oral medications. They will coordinate care with your primary care physician as needed too.

Our skilled optometrists, Dr. Laura Brammer, OD and Dr. Stephanie Erker, OD, can help you determine if contact lenses are right for you.
Both doctors are both trained to help patients with hard-to-fit challenges including corneal scarring, keratoconus, post-refractive ectasia, etc.
They can also assist in cosmetic contact lens fitting to camouflage irregularities of your eyes.
New Wearer? Our staff is trained to teach patients how to insert and remove contact lenses safely, how to clean/disinfect them and troubleshoot common issues.

Before he retired, Dr. Littlefield mentored Dr. Erker to take over his excellent care for patients who have suffered a concussion. These effects can be quite bothersome, if not debilitating.
Midwest Family Eyecare has specialized instrumentation and testing techniques which allows our doctors to provide individualized plans.
Our goal is to help alleviate visual issues from his/her concussion.

Myopia Management
One of Dr. Laura Brammer, OD's specialties is dry eye management. She analyzes patients' symptoms and uses various tools and techniques to diagnose and treat patients with dry eyes.
To add to her arsenal, she is excited to be able to offer her patients a new option, IPL (Intense Pulse Light) therapy. This treatment can work wonders to those patients with dry eyes and rosacea or meibomian gland dysfunction.

Dr. Stephanie Erker, OD is pleased to continue offering myopia management for patients. She utilizes various options for myopia control, including progressive eyeglasses, atropine drop therapy, orthokeratology as well as soft specialized contact lenses. Management is year-round and typically includes quarterly follow-up visits.
She is certified in Orthokeratology lenses such as Paragon CRT®, Euclid Emerald™, and Bausch + Lomb Moonlens®. Additionally, Dr. Erker is certified to fit VTI's NaturalVUE® contact lens and Coopervision's MiSight® lens.
